Asheville, NC (Where’s George Gathering)
The Asheville Gathering was held at the Asheville Pizza and Brewery in Asheville, NC. I got to meet a good bit of new Georgers, as well as, meet some Georgers I have met before. (CLICK HERE to see a list of those Georgers I met at this gathering)
Asheville, NC is about a two hour drive from Knoxville, TN. I wanted to go on a zipping trip, but my family got a little later start then normal. I did get to stop in Kodak, TN (Sevier County) and enter some Georges in. Kodak and Sevier county was a new city, county and zip code for me to enter from. Then, we decided to wait until we got into North Carolina to enter more in, because we figured we were going to be late, if we did all 5 counties along the way. On the way, I found out the gathering started at 12 p.m., instead of 1 p.m. So that meant, I had to make quick of the bills I entered in North Carolina. We stopped at the Atlanta Bread Company down the road from the Asheville Pizza and Brewery. I entered a good bit of them there. So, by entering some bills there that made Asheville in Buncombe County of North Carolina a new everything for me to enter from. (Zip code, county, city and state).
My family (my wife, daughter and my mom) went along for this gathering. I then went back to Knoxville and spread the traded bills I got back in Tennessee. I spent just a few of them in Newport (Cocke County) Tennessee. Then the rest of them were spent in several places in West Knoxville.
One of the interesting things I noticed about North Carolina along I-40 was that before a tunnel it had Remove Sunglasses. Makes you wonder why they had to put that up on as a singage?
Also Gizmo573 helped to raise money ($9) for June Bug who is going to freeze for Special Olympics. I hope she reachers here goal. I know the Where’s George community has been very helpful on this. I know that at the Knoxville II Gatherin, Alix helped with that.
Oh yea, I forgot to mention, I did get several business cards from fellow Georgers while I was there too. Thanks y’all!
