Today I gained 283 business cards.

I gained 1 business card from myself. I found it on the floor at the Post Office today when I went inside to get my mail out of the Post Office Box.

I also gained 143 business cards from a collector in Benalla, Victoria, Australia. I also got 1 duplicate in this package.

I now go onto let you know I got 39 business cards from another collector, who lives in Ovideo, FL. I also got 1 duplicate in this package.

The next package of business cards contained 14 business cards from Å ternberk, Czech Republic. In this package, I got 2 duplicates.

My next package came from a collector in St. Isidore de Clifton, Quebec, Canada. In this package I gained 20 business cards.

Now to my last package, I gained 66 business cards from a Where’s George user in Clyde, NC. I met him at the Asheville Gathering on Jan. 26, 2008. He goes by the name newwave. Newwave also included 22 duplicates.

My new overall total is 145,828.

I gained 120 business cards today.

I gained 57 business cards from a normal contributor, who is a Where’s George user in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN area.
I have meet this person several times already. She dropped them off at my work today. Included in the business cards was a Floss Card. A Floss Card is a plastic business card with dental floss in it. She also had a wooden business card in the pile too. I counted 2 duplicates.

I also got 63 business cards from a normal contributor who lives locally in Knoxville, TN. I also got 32 duplicates from this person too.

My new overall total is 145,545.

Also today, sent me 2 BOX TOPS for Education & 1 CAMPBELL’S LABELS for Education. Plus, a normal contributor from Plains Twp., PA sent me 12 BOX TOPS for Education & 3 CAMPBELL’S LABELS for Education.
(I will post the overall stats at the end of this school year. — around May/June).

WIVK, 107.7 FM, my radio station I listen to was talking about those annoying e-mails that everyone forwards on. The type that have urban legends and such.
Esp. those that if you forward this to 10 people you will have good luck, but if you don’t you will have bad luck.

Anywho…
The made a brief about the urban legend about business cards. Then they mentioned about Snoopes.com.

They didn’t go into detail, but they said one of the examples they have on Snoopes is the one about a young man that wants business cards, they mentioned it has been around for around 15 years.

So I called WIVK and thanked them for mentioning this.
I get those forwards a lot, since I collect business cards.

That brings my new overall total to 145,400 exactly.

The Asheville Gathering was held at the Asheville Pizza and Brewery in Asheville, NC. I got to meet a good bit of new Georgers, as well as, meet some Georgers I have met before. (CLICK HERE to see a list of those Georgers I met at this gathering)

Asheville, NC is about a two hour drive from Knoxville, TN. I wanted to go on a zipping trip, but my family got a little later start then normal. I did get to stop in Kodak, TN (Sevier County) and enter some Georges in. Kodak and Sevier county was a new city, county and zip code for me to enter from. Then, we decided to wait until we got into North Carolina to enter more in, because we figured we were going to be late, if we did all 5 counties along the way. On the way, I found out the gathering started at 12 p.m., instead of 1 p.m. So that meant, I had to make quick of the bills I entered in North Carolina. We stopped at the Atlanta Bread Company down the road from the Asheville Pizza and Brewery. I entered a good bit of them there. So, by entering some bills there that made Asheville in Buncombe County of North Carolina a new everything for me to enter from. (Zip code, county, city and state).

My family (my wife, daughter and my mom) went along for this gathering. I then went back to Knoxville and spread the traded bills I got back in Tennessee. I spent just a few of them in Newport (Cocke County) Tennessee. Then the rest of them were spent in several places in West Knoxville.

One of the interesting things I noticed about North Carolina along I-40 was that before a tunnel it had Remove Sunglasses. Makes you wonder why they had to put that up on as a singage?

Also Gizmo573 helped to raise money ($9) for June Bug who is going to freeze for Special Olympics. I hope she reachers here goal. I know the Where’s George community has been very helpful on this. I know that at the Knoxville II Gatherin, Alix helped with that.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention, I did get several business cards from fellow Georgers while I was there too. Thanks y’all!
