California Golden Bears vs Tennessee Vols
This post is about one of tonights college football game.
The game: University of Tennessee Vols vs University of California Golden Bears
This game was held in Berkley, CA.
It was aired on ABC using ESPN.
Plus you could also hear it on the radio, 107.7 WIVK.
Vols ranked #15 while Golden Bears ranked #12.
Cal scored first in the game and it pretty much was a back and forth scoring. At the end of the first-half Cal is leading Tennessee by a score of 31 to 21. Cal ended the half pretty much with the field goal. Erik Ainge is also playing with a broken finger. He seems to be throwing the ball better this year. He is also doing the no huddle this year too. Payton Manning has been giving him tons and tons of tips and such. So maybe Manning gave him some good advice and he will stick to it.d
In the second-half the Vols couldn’t seem to shake Cal’s strong and fast Defense. But, the Vols did try. I do hope that Xavier Mitchell, Jersey #5, will be ok. He got seriously injured in tonights game. So keep Mitchell in your thoughts and prayers.
I do also believe that our defense wasn’t that strong tonight. There was way too many plays that got through.
I do think that Ainge should have done much better.
DeSean Jackson, Jersey #1, of California was the strong house of the game. He is a strong and touch player. I am sure the rest of California’s schedule needs to look out for him.
By a score of 45 to 31, California beat Tennessee.
The game started at 8 p.m. and was over with at 12 a.m. EST
If Tennessee won this game, it would have been a 13 straight opening game win.
(The Vols haven’t lost a season opener since 1994)
Next week Tennessee will play Southern Mississippi at 7 p.m. EST.
It will be on VideoSeat PPV next week. I don’t have cable, so next week, I will have to
listen to the game on the radio, WIVK, 107.7.
GO VOLS!
SIDE NOTE I:
I didn’t get a big response last year when I pretty much did almost play by play, post. So this year, I will just give some highlights and opinions and such. Sorry to those who enjoyed reading my play coverage last year.
SIDE NOTE II:
Cal has protesters inside of trees beside Cal’s football stadium. They are protesting, because they want to tear down those trees to expand the stadium. They says these trees have been there forever, before World War I. The sports reporters say that UC will plant 3 new trees for every tree that is removed. I believe 2 saplings and 1 mature tree. Not a bad trade out, but the fact is those trees have history is the other hand.
SIDE NOTE III:
Cal also has what is called “tightwad hill” Basicly it is adjacent to the stadium where you can see the field and what is going on. You can also see the bay and the bridge in the background too. Why is it called tightwad? It is because you can see the game for free there.
SIDE NOTE IV:
Did anyone hear about the upset against Michigan?
Appalachian State beat Michigan. It is known as one of the biggest upsets in college football history. Michigan was also ranked #5. I bet they drop big time in the polls after that game.
