Computer Bluetooth Update!

April 18th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Wow only a couple days later and I got a response from Acer about the Bluetooth on my computer, Acer Aspire 5610Z. I was told they usually take several weeks to get back to you. I guess I just got lucky.

This totally sucks, but this is what they told me…

Thank you for contacting Acer America. Although there is a button on the
notebook for Bluetooth, the Aspire 5610 models that ship in the US and
Canada does not ship with a Bluetooth module on the motherboard. Therefore
it does not support Bluetooth as it ships. In order to get Bluetooth, you
will need to purchase a third party device such as a USB to Bluetooth
transceiver, or other external device that provides Bluetooth
capabilities. These type of devices are available at most computer shops
that sell options and accessories for notebook products. Acer America
does not offer an update to Bluetooth on systems that did not ship with
Bluetooth from the factory.

Regards,
Acer Online Support Team

Why the hell put that you have Bluetooth on it, if you don’t! Make a note saying that it is not on the US models. GRRRR! So are the Bluetooth attachments expensive?
