I got a hit!

Tennessee — A near shut-out against Memphis
OPENING THOUGHTS
I know this will be a good game. It will prove to be intresting. The Vols have beat the Tigers 19 out of 20 games (last 5 consective games). The Tigers is also know for “trick” plays. This really can be anyones game. I am listening to the game on WIVK. The Vols ranked 15 and The Tigers weren’t ranked.
1st QUARTER
At kick-off in Memphis, TN, at noon, the tempature was 71° The Vols kicked-off to The Tigers. The Tigers couldn’t do anything with the ball, so they punted the ball to The Vols. Penalty: Off-sides defense (The Tigers). Ainge is quarterback for The Vols. The Vols ended up trying for a field goal attempt, 28 yrds. Wilhoits kick is… GOOD! The Vols—3 to The Tigers—0. The Vols to kick it off to The Tigers. Now The Tigers to punt it to The Vols. Flag: Holding on The Vols. This it the 8th offsensive penalty for The Vols this season. Time out (The Vols). The Tigers just intersepted the ball and got a touchdown. No! Wait, flag on the play. It was offsides against Mephis, so this touchdown didn’t count for them. Another time out (The Vols). The Vols lead the 1st quarter 3 to 0.
2nd QUARTER
The Vols starts the ball. The Vols gets a touchdown, Swain on the 2nd and Goal. Wilhoits extra point is… GOOD! The Vols—10 to The Tigers—0. The Vols to kick-off to The Tigers. Penalty: Illegal formation on The Tigers. The Vols ended up fumbling the ball and The Tigers recovered it. The Tigers ended up having to punt it off to The Vols. Another penalty: Illegal procedure on The Tigers. The Vols attempts a field goal, 49 yrds., Wilhoits kick is… GOOD! The Vols—13 to The Tigers—0. The Vols to kick-off to The Tigers. At the end of the first half, The Vols leads The Tigers 13 to 0.
HALF TIME THOUGHTS
The Vols seems to be doing very well, both offensively and defensively. I don’t have much to share with this game for my half time thoughts.
3rd QUARTER
The Tigers stats by kicking off the ball to The Vols. Flags are down, False start on The Vols. Swain gets a The Vols touchdown, 51 yrds. Wilhoits extra point is… GOOD! The Vols—20 The Tigers—0. The Vols kicks off the ball to The Tigers. The Tigers had to punt the ball to The Vols. Meachem ended up scoring a The Vols touchdown, 44 yrds. Wilhoits extra point is… GOOD! The Vols—27 The Tigers—0. The Vols kicks off the ball to The Tigers. The Tigers has the ball and The Vols (Hefney) ended up intercepting it. The Vols tries for another touchdown, but got all the way to 4th and goal (1 yard away) and couldn’t get a touchdown. So now it is The Tigers ball. The Vols leads the 3rd quarter 27 to 0.
4th QUARTER
The Tigers started with the ball in the 4th. The Tigers had to punt the ball to The Vols. Penalty: Roughing the passer on The Tigers. Smith scores for another The Vols touchdown! Wilhoits extra point is… GOOD! The Vols—34 to The Tigers—0. The Vols kicks off the ball to The Tigers. Penalty: Roughing the passer on The Vols. The Vols almost intercepted the ball from The Tigers. The Vols ended up stopping The Tigers drive and got the ball back. Crompton is in as quarterback for the Vols now. Yancey scores for a The Vols touchdown. Wilhoits extra point is… GOOD! The Vols—41 to Meph&mdash0. The Vols kicks the ball off to The Tigers. The Tigers ended up having to punt the ball to The Vols. Hardegree as quarterback for the Vols, fumble and The Tigers recovers it gets a touchdown. The extra point for The Tigers is good. The Vols—41 to Meph—7. The Tigers kicks off the ball to The Vols. Colquitt to punt the call to The Tigers, 34 yrds. That is the end of the game and The Vols beat the Tigers 41 to 7.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
I am very proud of the Vols. The Vols came close to shutting out the Tigers. The last time the Vols had a shut out game was in 2003 against Vanderbilt. Next weeks game will be a touch game. We will play the George Bulldogs in Athens, GA. Tennessee’s next 7 games are all confence games (SEC). Couch Cutcliffe has done great coming back to Tennessee coaching staff. Keep up the great work!
